This Privacy Policy explains how LifeSongs.ai ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website or order a custom song. It applies alongside our Terms & Conditions. By using our service, you agree to the practices described here.
LifeSongs.ai is an Australian business creating custom AI-assisted and human-produced songs for weddings, memorials, birthdays, and other significant occasions. We are the data controller (or "APP entity" under Australian law) for the personal information described in this policy. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
We collect information you give us directly when you place an order or contact us, including:
We also automatically collect limited technical information (such as IP address and browser type) through standard web server logs and our hosting provider, for security and reliability purposes.
We use your personal information only to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we never use your story details, names, or personal song content for advertising or marketing. Separately, if you expressly opt in at checkout, we may use your name and email address to send you our own marketing emails (occasional offers, seasonal song ideas and updates) — this is optional, unticked by default, and you can withdraw at any time. See Section 12 (Marketing Communications).
We share the minimum information necessary with the third-party service providers who help us run LifeSongs.ai. Each acts as a processor on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:
We do not permit these providers to use your information for their own purposes beyond providing their service to us, and we choose providers with their own privacy and security commitments. Some of these providers are based outside Australia (including the United States) — see Section 6 on international transfers.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).
Our website uses the essential cookies/technical mechanisms needed for the site and checkout to function (for example, those set by Stripe during payment), and Google Analytics (GA4) to help us understand how visitors use our site (such as which pages are visited and how people found us). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect information such as your IP address, device, and browsing behaviour on our site. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent.
Because several of our service providers (Section 4) operate internationally, including in the United States, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data protection laws than your home country. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we rely on our providers' contractual and security commitments to protect it, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles and, where applicable, GDPR safeguards for international transfers (such as standard contractual clauses).
We retain your order and story details for as long as needed to deliver your song, provide support and handle any revisions, and meet our legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. If you'd like us to delete personal information we hold about you sooner, contact us (Section 10) and we will do so unless we're required to retain it by law.
Depending on where you're located, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
If you're in Australia:
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and may make a complaint about how we've handled your information.
If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR):
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict use of your personal information, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
If you're in California (CCPA/CPRA):
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of it, and to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of.
Marketing communications (everyone):
If you've opted in to marketing emails, you can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time — via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the transactional emails needed to fulfil your order.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10 — we'll respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
LifeSongs.ai is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work with providers (Section 4) who maintain their own security standards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new service provider or feature that changes how we handle personal information. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
We send marketing emails (occasional offers, seasonal song ideas, and product updates) only to people who have expressly opted in — for example, by ticking the optional marketing checkbox at checkout. That box is unticked by default; opting in is never required to place an order.
When you opt in, we record your consent (the exact wording you agreed to, and the date) as proof, and we add your name and email address to our marketing audience, which is managed through our email provider, Resend (see Section 4). We do not add anyone who has not opted in, and we never use your story or song content for marketing.
You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time — every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at connect@lifesongs.ai. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails only; you'll still receive the transactional emails needed to fulfil any order (such as order confirmations and delivery).
Your consent is the lawful basis for these communications. We aim to meet the requirements of the applicable laws wherever you are — including the Australian Spam Act 2003, the EU/UK GDPR and ePrivacy rules, Canada's CASL, and the US CAN-SPAM Act — including clear sender identification and a functional unsubscribe in every message.

Legal note: This Privacy Policy has been drafted as a starting point covering the Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA at a general level, based on the data practices in place as of July 2026. It should be reviewed by a qualified privacy/legal professional before being relied on for regulatory compliance (including Google Ads and Meta Ads policy review), particularly to confirm it stays accurate as our tools and data practices evolve.
